Certena Hearing Aid Features

Certéna employs an impressive array of proven features and functionalities to offer the confidence of comfortable listening and clear speech.

WhistleBlock Technology

A whistling sound called feedback is one of the most common annoyances of hearing instruments. Thanks to WhistleBlock Technology, Phonak Certéna functions reliably without the annoyance of feedback.

  • No more whistling

  • Instantly and accurately differentiates feedback from other tonal sounds like those in music

  • Self-determines when it is needed and automatically activates and adjusts

  • Sound quality remains excellent and speech is clear

  • Permits more volume without feedback than any competitive system

NoiseBlock Processing

Environmental noises like motors, fans and engines can be quite uncomfortable. NoiseBlock Processing effectively diminishes these bothersome sounds.

  • Continuously analyzes the environment

  • Recognizes the differences between speech and other sounds and automatically reduces only the noise

Digital AudioZoom

Imagine yourself in a restaurant, at a party or a family gathering. In these situations there is usually a lot of background noise that might make it difficult for you to understand conversations. Certéna uses the only proven method of enhancing speech understanding in noise – directional microphone technology.

  • Zooms in on the speech you want to hear while reducing the noise

  • Automatically activates when needed

SoundFlow is Standard

Many modern systems have different programs for different situations, like a quiet room versus a noisy environment. However, most situations are not completely quiet or totally noisy, but some of both. The exclusive Phonak SoundFlow technology automatically finds the best combination of settings and creates a special program for each unique situation.

  • With SoundFlow Standard, Certéna continuously adjusts to the changing environment

  • Smooth transitions between hearing situations so you don’t even notice the changes

  • SoundFlow Standard also helps you hear better on the phone and when listening to music

FM

An FM system consists of a remote microphone (transmitter), which picks up the voice from the speaker and sends it via radio waves, wirelessly, directly to the tiny radio (FM) receiver, which is connected to the personal hearing instrument.

FM Importance

Even with the best hearing instruments, most hearing-impaired people notice that they have difficulty hearing in certain situations such as using a telephone, watching television, during a business meeting, or in a restaurant. Using an FM system makes communication in all these difficult situations much easier.

Transmitter

The FM transmitter is worn by the person speaking (e.g. a school teacher or the hearing instrument wearer’s conversation partner), or is placed in front of the sound source or can be connected directly to an audio source (e.g. TV or CD player).

Phonak has developed a versatile range of FM transmitters, combining user-friendliness with optimum signal-to-noise ratio for improved speech understanding.

Any Phonak transmitter can be used with the MicroLink receivers.
